H1N1 Vaccine is now available for all persons to receive, but still remains extremely important for pregnant women, caregivers of children under 6 months old, all children and adults with chronic conditions to receive.
Priority Groups remain:
1. Pregnant Women
2. Caregivers of Children under 6 months of age (they can’t be vaccinated so their caregivers must be!)
3. Direct contact Healthcare and EMS workers
4. Children with Chronic Conditions
5. Healthy Children
Adults: This Influenza seems to attack young healthy children and pregnant women most severely. Adults especially those over 50 seem to have a bit of immunity to this influenza, so we ask that you wait patiently until we can make the rounds with the vaccine to your priority group. We hope to receive ample supply within the next few weeks and will continue to work at each priority group until the public has all been reached.
As always we can take measures to protect ourselves and other from catching influenza. Cover your cough or sneeze with your sleeve, Wash your hands frequently, Stay home when you are sick, you must be fever free for 24 hours with out the aid of acetaminophen or ibuprophen.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through this pandemic.
